Water-jet cutting with added abrasive :

 

Materials cut using water-jet plus abrasive :

Steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminium, titanium, tantalum, silver, gold, nickel , ceramic, tiles, stone, glass, glass fibre, carbon fibre and many other materials.

Hyperbaric water-jet cutting machines, equipped with X-Y tables, with digital control system. HPT pressure of 1600 to 6000 bar.

X-Y tables measuring  1200 x 800 mm. ( 2 machines ) precision : +/-0.1mm

X-Y tables measuring   3000 x 1500 mm. ( 2 machines ) precision +/-0.1mm

When cutting with a water jet with added abrasive, the water is used to convey its kinetic energy into the abrasive particles. The material within the jet’s path is really filed down by the particles. This is a material removal technique that generates very little tension, which does not change the structure of the material and does not cause the material to heat up, with the water in fact also acting on the erosion area to prevent the build-up of heat caused by friction.
