Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

When cutting with a water jet with added abrasive, the water is used to convey its kinetic energy into the abrasive particles. The material within the jet’s path is really grinded by the particles. This is a material removal technique that generates very little tension, which does not change the structure of the material and does not cause the material to heat up. The water in fact also acting on the erosion area to clear out the build-up of heat caused by friction.

Hyperbaric water-jet cutting machines, equipped with X-Y tables, with numerical control system. VHP pressure of 400 to 6000 bar.

Cutting range 3000 x 1500 mm (2 machines) precision level +/-0.1mm

Materials cut using water-jet plus abrasive :

Steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminium, titanium, tantalum, silver, gold, nickel, ceramic, tiles, stone, glass, glass fibre, carbon fibre and many other materials.
